三.阅读理解(30分,前两个短文每题1分,后两个短文每题2分)
A
Animals are people’s friends. But many wild animals are facing the danger of dying out, because the environment that they are living in has changed greatly. For example, their living area has become smaller and smaller because of pollution and the development of cities. They have no room to live in except the zoo. And many of the wild animals now can’t find enough food to eat. At the same time, man is killing off animals just for getting their fur, teeth and meat.
People should realize how serious the situation is and something should be done to protect the animals. We should set up some nature reserves so that animals can live freely. And people shouldn’t be allowed to kill the endangered (处于危险中的) animals. We should also do something to make our world cleaner. Fresh air, clean water and green grass are all important for animals. The death of the endangered animals will bring a disaster (灾难) to human beings.
根据短文内容,判断正(T)误(F)。
( )1.The number of the wild animals is smaller now.
( )2.With the development of the cities, the living area for the animals has become smaller and smaller.
( )3.Man is killing off animals just for fun.
( )4.The wild animals are very safe now, because we have found a lot of useful methods (方法) to save them.
( )5.All of us should try our best to protect the animals.

You want to run across the street to catch the bus which is leaving soon? But wait! You’d better not. If a policeman sees you, you’ll have to pay a fine (罚款).
New traffic laws (交通法) say that if people cross the street when the light is red, they can be fined as much as 50 yuan.Traffic accidents killed more than 104,000 people in China last year. Chinese cities have more cars than ever. Drivers and pedestrians (行人) must work together to make the streets safer.
The law has new rules for drivers and pedestrians. Drivers have to slow down when they are close to crosswalks. If people are in a crosswalk, cars must stop to let them pass.
There are rules for bus drivers, too. If bus drivers smoke, drink or make phone calls while driving, they can be fined. Buses that carry too many people are also against the law.

If you see a hit-and –run (肇事逃逸), tell the police. They may give you a reward (奖赏). And don’t be afraid to help people to the hospital if they are hurt in an accident. Don’t worry about money. The new law says that doctors must take care of them even if they can’t pay right away.

Have you ever had problems in your life and don’t know how to be happy? If so , you will find “Being a Happy Teenager” by Australian writer Andrew Matthews useful.
In his book, Matthews tells us how to have a happy life and answers the questions of teenagers.
The book says we should stop being angry. The book tells us of useful skills. For example ,if you want to make your memory better, you can put what you will have learned into pictures of your mind. Many teenagers think that happiness comes from a good exam result or praise from other people. But you can still be happy when there are no such “good” things.
Success comes from a good attitude. If you learn from problems, you have success in the future. Some school boys have problems such as being too tall or too short, but Matthews tells us happiness comes from thinking about things in a positive way.
If you are tall , you can get a better view(视线) at the movie. If you are short, your clothes and shoes take less room in your bedroom! This is Matthews’s most important lesson : you choose to be happy!

In May 2011, Gao Xiaosong, a Chinese musician, was caught in a car accident. When the police asked him to take a breath alcohol test (酒精呼气测试), the result showed that he had drunk too much wine. Because of that, he is now in prison (监狱) and can't be allowed to drive cars in China for five years.
Nowadays, cars are very important in people's life. More and more cars are going into Chinese families. However, lots of car accidents take place and many people are hurt or killed every year. According to a police
survey, 3 there are a lot of drivers driving after drinking. And the number of drunken driving is still large.
After drinking, a driver can't control himself or his car. In some cases (案例), some drivers even drove into rivers or houses after they drank.
As it is so dangerous, there is no excuse for drunken driving. Remember the following three rules when driving.
·Never drive after drinking.
·Never let anyone drive after drinking.
·4 Never give alcohol to anyone who would drive later.
If all of us can keep these rules in mind, there will be fewer car accidents, fewer people will be
heart-broken. For the safety of ourselves and for the happiness of our families,we must remember: No
